Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hey everyone,

I would first off like to thank everyone that has viewed my blog since its creation. An even bigger thank you goes to those who have kept coming back to see what is new, and especially those who have taken the time to give me feedback. Without all of you, this blog wouldn't have been as successful.

A special mention and thank you goes to Rhi at Hummingbirds song for introducing me to the world of blogging and all of its possibilities.

I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year.

Overcompetitiveness!

                                                    Hey everyone,

There isn’t all that much that really annoys me in everyday life. But, one thing that never fails to get on my nerves is when people are way too competitive. Sure it is good to have a little competitive fun, but when people are constantly bringing you down and trying to outdo you, it is just too much.
It might be that they just don’t possess the gene that controls being happy for somebody else to do well, and have the spotlight on them for once. Or it could just be the way they were brought up. However, it could just be pure greed and jealousy. Whatever the reason, it is almost like they are uncomfortable not being the best so they take their insecurities out by bringing others down, using techniques like making rude remarks about you, your performance, project etc.
This being said, there is a time and place for being competitive, after all, that is what drives everyone to be the best they can, but these people need to learn not to bring others down in the process.
The cold, hard reality is that no matter where you are, be it in a sporting match, being at work or school, there will always be at least one person who is over competitive, and there always will be.
So, I have included strategies for coping with over competitive people, as suggested on http://www.wikihow.com/Deal-With-Overly-Competitive-People.
Step 1: Determine who is over competitive – You can tell straight away who the overly competitive one in the room is by the way they talk when competition is brought up. They will be a lot more confident and usually, a bit arrogant.
Step 2: If they challenge you, reject the challenge. You know it usually won’t be a fun challenge. Overly competitive people don't believe in friendly competition.
Step 3: When they win, they boast forever, and when they lose, it's not pretty! Don't boast if you beat them in something, because they will bite back, and that won't be fun.
Step 4: When you participate in a school sports day or you're going for a job promotion against them, just avoid them. They are not comforting if you lose and if you win they become jealous and bitter.
Step 5: If they beat you and start to gloat, walk away and ignore them. If this is done they don't get the satisfaction they want and crave, and they will give up.
Step 6: Don't get caught in their web, they want you to compete against them. Doing this will make you over competitive as well.
REMEMBER!!
·         Don't get too overly competitive whilst trying to avoid the certain person.
 ·         Being competitive is good, but too much of it can make you irritating and very unlikable.

City Council Anthem Rap Video.

Hey everyone,

Last night I was watching Television and a program came on that I don't usually watch, however, when I looked up I saw this video it quickly caught my attention.

It is a spin-off from the ever popular song by LMFAO called 'Party Rock Anthem' also known as the 'Everyday I am shuffling' song and is made by a group of teenagers at 'schoolies week.' In this video they are dressed at City Council workers and have changed the lyrics of the song to make it more to do with the council workers.

Though it may have been intended to exaggerate the role of the council workers, it made me laugh as one of my relatives that works for the City Council is always singing, dancing and of course ‘shovellin’’
The idea is actually rather brilliant; the video is quite funny and definitely well made. Australia needs more entertaining videos that are purely harmless fun! It is well worth checking out, so follow the link.
